A stylized Green Belt badge appears centered on a bright yellow background. The badge consists of layered cards with a green belt icon and the text 'Green Belt' clearly visible. A small green hexagonal emblem overlaps the cards, adding depth to the design. On the right side, a large white chevron shape points toward the badge, creating a sense of direction and movement.

Building AI Capability That Scales: Our Green Belt Train-the-Trainer Journey

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the way technology organizations work, learn, and innovate. To support this transformation, RBI Group IT developed the Green Belt AI Training Program, providing a structured foundation for building AI capabilities across the RBI Group.

At Raiffeisen Tech, we focused on how to scale this capability sustainably. Through a structured Train-the-Trainer approach, we transformed a centrally delivered training into a self-sustaining learning model with local trainers across our Delivery Centers.

From Learners to Trainers

The concept is simple. Future trainers first participate in the Green Belt training, familiarize themselves with the materials, and join additional sessions alongside experienced AI trainers. They then gradually take ownership and begin delivering trainings locally.

This approach enables us to build internal expertise, increase training capacity, and ensure that knowledge remains close to our engineering communities.

The design uses green and teal elements on a bright yellow background, creating a modern, minimal look. The image conveys concepts of security, access control, and achievement.

What is Green Belt?

Green Belt is a two-day advanced on-site training designed for professionals engaged in diverse projects. The curriculum covers practical topics including GitHub Copilot, AI context management, AI agent creation and operation, session automation, plugin utilization, and Spec-Driven Development.

Building Local AI Expertise

Since launching, we have delivered 6 Green Belt trainings and trained over 100 employees across Vienna, Kosovo, Romania, and Poland. Our internal trainer community has grown to 11 certified trainers, who are actively conducting or preparing local sessions.

Trainer communities have emerged in key locations, including Kosovo, Poland, and Romania, helping bring AI knowledge directly to colleagues and fostering a shared AI language across teams and borders.

More Than a Training Program

The goal was never only to train engineers. Our goal was to become self-sufficient in delivering AI capability building at scale.

By empowering colleagues to become trainers themselves, we are creating a growing network of AI ambassadors who support knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and AI adoption across Raiffeisen Tech.

More Than Just Training

The Green Belt program goes beyond theory. Participants learn to identify meaningful AI use cases, apply AI tools responsibly, and drive real business impact in their daily work. This practical focus ensures that AI adoption is not just a buzzword but a tangible capability embedded in our workflows.

The minimalist flat design emphasizes precision, focus, and achievement. Bold contrasting colors create a modern, eye-catching visual.

Our ultimate goal is self-sufficiency in delivering AI capability building at scale. By empowering colleagues to become trainers themselves, we are creating a growing network of AI ambassadors who support knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and AI adoption across Raiffeisen Tech.

Collaboration That Creates Lasting Impact

This initiative exemplifies how collaboration across the RBI Group accelerates capability building. Thanks to Group IT for designing the program and ongoing support, and to all trainers and participants who are turning AI knowledge into everyday practice.

Because the most sustainable way to build capability is to enable people to teach others — and that is exactly what we are doing.
