HackAIthon #2 2026 – How AI is Transforming Daily Engineering Work

The AI-DNA LogAnalyzer team, representing Raiffeisen Tech Poland and composed of Damian Mizerski (Senior DevOps Engineer, topic owner) and Oleg Kulyanyak (Senior Backend Developer), took on the challenge of building a system to support AI-driven Elasticsearch log analysis through an Elasticsearch MCP server. Their roles complemented each other perfectly — Damian acted as architect, DevOps Engineer, and topic leader, while Oleg focused on engineering and development. Their collaboration was highly effective — fast communication and a clear division of tasks allowed the team to achieve a lot in a short time. Thanks to this, our team proudly secured the distinguished 2nd place in the hackathon!

The most innovative aspect of the project was using the Elasticsearch MCP server as a plug-and-play integration layer between an Elasticsearch cluster and AI. AI-DNA LogAnalyzer was able to analyze user intent expressed in natural language, estimate query costs based on indexed documents, autonomously select the necessary MCP tools, and generate output reports in HTML and JSON formats. Additionally, it automatically named chat sessions based on the content of the analyzed logs.

The biggest challenge for the team was efficiently setting up the test infrastructure across different architectures (x86 and ARM) and finalizing everything at the last minute before the presentation — just like in the previous edition, the critical moment was “5 minutes before the deadline.”

Among other projects, the Confluence Knowledge Base team stood out by creating a managed knowledge base based on a Confluence dump, accessible both to AI and users. They proposed solutions to automate documentation cleanup and use vector databases for faster search. Other notable projects included ITPF Controls and Jira Release Watchdog.

The event had a fantastic energy — the AI-DNA LogAnalyzer team met many AI enthusiasts from different parts of the organization, fostering experience exchange and relationship building. There was also plenty of socializing over coffee, snaks, and the famous meter-long pizza, highlighting the startup atmosphere of the hackathon. HackAIthon demonstrated that with reduced bureaucracy, the pace of development and innovation multiplies. In just 1.5 days, the team created a working prototype of AI-DNA LogAnalyzer, which, although not yet production-ready, has a clear development path ahead. Securing second place is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the high skills of engineers Damian and Oleg. This experience reinforced their belief that AI can become an integral part of engineers’ daily work, significantly accelerating and simplifying it.
