Different Roles, One Mission – A Day in the Life at Raiffeisen Tech

Each day at Raiffeisen Tech looks a little different, depending on the role, location, and team we work in. For everyone, however, it involves balancing strategic tasks, cross-team collaboration, and making decisions that have a real impact on the organization’s growth. Although schedules can be dynamic, each of them emphasizes that the key factors are flexibility, teamwork, and ensuring that daily work delivers real value to both teams and clients.

My days are usually a mix of strategic work, cross team collaboration, and meetings focused on business development.

I don’t follow a very strict schedule — I’m more of a flexible, 'go with the flow' type of leader. (…) One rule I do keep, though: by the end of the day, my inbox is clean.

“(…) my day flows into strategic alignments with peers, the General Manager, and the broader management team

A typical day for me is a mix of strategic and hands-on work. I talk with stakeholders to understand their needs and figure out how HR can best support them. I move between payroll, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and administrative topics — making sure the employee experience runs smoothly.

The beauty of my role lies in the fact that it’s hard to define a typical workday. What matters most to me is supporting the team and ensuring that all team members have the best possible experience at work. My responsibilities are a mix of collaborating with the team and stakeholders, and working with documents and systems, always focusing on priorities – what’s important for the team and the organization.

What We Enjoy Most About Our Roles

The joy of working at Raiffeisen Tech comes from various sources – from solving problems on a daily basis, to the opportunity to develop the team, and the impact their actions have on the organization and clients. Our colleagues emphasize the importance of diverse experiences, creativity, and collaboration in an international environment. For many, the greatest satisfaction comes from the opportunity to learn, take on challenges, and see the tangible results of their work.

I love that my job is never boring. I especially enjoy helping my team grow—whether it’s helping them figure out their career path, learn new skills, or become more self-assured.

What I enjoy most is solving complex data problems and seeing how our solutions directly support business decisions. There’s something very satisfying about transforming raw data into meaningful insights.

What I find most rewarding about my role is its dynamic nature… Knowing that my insights contribute to strategic discussions and help shape the company’s direction is particularly fulfilling.

What I appreciate most about working in IT is the pace of change. It keeps you alert, open to learning, and constantly adapting — especially in HR, where supporting people through change is essential.

What I value most in my work is the contact with people – both within my team and in collaboration with other departments. My role exists to make their work easier, and I am grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful and talented people in the organization. Additionally, I love the continuous learning and taking on challenges that have a real impact on the company.

What inspires me most is working with people… Every challenge is an opportunity. Every new topic is a chance to expand my perspective.”

I enjoy seeing how all the pieces of initiatives and plans come together to create a final, valuable result.

From Paths to Purpose – What Brings Women to Raiffeisen Tech and Inspires Them Every Day

Each woman at Raiffeisen Tech has her own unique story, and their inspirations stem from diverse experiences, curiosity about the world, and a passion for technology. For some, the motivation was the opportunity to build something from the ground up; for others, it was the international challenges and working with experienced teams. The common denominator is engagement, a desire to learn, and the joy of seeing the impact they have on the growth of the company and its clients.

After more than 18 years with Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo… Joining the newly established Raiffeisen Tech Kosovo was a bold and exciting step. What inspires me most is being part of a journey where we are not only growing as a company but also shaping the future of technology and collaboration across countries.

I joined the company somehow unexpectedly… What inspires me most here is precisely this sense of the impact. Being part of a company in its early stages offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully and see tangible results from your work.

After 7 years in another industry with strong focus on testing, I switched to banking – in Raiffeisen Tech Poland I started as a Test Coordinator in 2020 and here I am. What inspires me in Raiffeisen Tech is collaborative work culture, creative and meaningful challenges and experienced, supportive colleagues.

When I first heard about the plan to set up an IT Delivery Center in Romania, I immediately felt this could be my dream professional challenge. What inspires me every day is the enthusiasm of our engineers — their eagerness to continuously learn, grow, and push their knowledge further.

Before joining Raiffeisen Tech, I spent over a decade at Raiffeisen Bank Polska… What inspires me most at Raiffeisen Tech is the culture of continuous development. We constantly explore new areas where we can improve processes, enhance products, and create real value.

I started my career curious about many areas of IT, but over time I realized that data is where I can create the most impact. Leading a team today is both a responsibility and a continuous learning journey.

I joined the company as a Project Manager/Talent Acquisition, having previously worked on a contract in an HR firm. At first, I didn’t know much about the organization, but once I got to know it from the inside, I felt that this was the place for me. What inspires me most are the people, their stories, and their passions – we have many talented individuals here, in sports, art, writing books, and creative ideas.

I came to Raiffeisen after several years in software engineering roles… What inspires me most is the chance to build great teams, improve our delivery process, and help build a culture that values quality, teamwork, and always learning.

With already long experience in RBI group and as a Gallup learner I was drawn to Raiffeisen Tech by the diversity of projects and the chance to work with interesting people from many areas of expertise. The variety of tasks, topics, and perspectives continues to inspire me every day.”

Essential Skills – What Women Bring to Their Roles at Raiffeisen Tech

Women at Raiffeisen Tech emphasize that effectiveness in their roles requires both technical and soft skills. Strategic thinking, organization, communication, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are all important. For analysts, project managers, and team leaders, it is crucial to combine a business perspective with a technological one, as well as to have the ability to listen, collaborate, and continuously learn. Many also highlight the importance of mentoring, team building, and empathy—skills that support the development of others and help create an effective work environment.

Good communication, problem-solving, and strong technical knowledge are essential. Understanding technical challenges while working effectively with others makes a real difference.

Multidimensional thinking is key — understanding business goals, technical constraints, client expectations, and regulatory aspects all at once.

Leading people means mentoring the team, giving feedback, and removing obstacles while adapting to new changes and technologies.

Professional communication, active listening, collaboration, and coaching are essential — but mindset matters most: empathy, courage, and resilience.

My role requires adaptability, communication, analytical thinking, empathy, organization, and proactivity. Knowing when to switch between strategic thinking and operational execution is essential.

Organization, efficient communication, and flexibility are crucial — they allow me to keep projects on track while supporting the team.

Adaptability and business acumen are key — understanding the broader context and providing insights that guide decisions makes my work meaningful.

Balance Is a Journey – How Women at Raiffeisen Tech Navigate Work and Life

For women at Raiffeisen Tech, work-life balance is not a rigid rule or a perfect ratio. It is a conscious choice, a daily decision about priorities, energy, and mindfulness. Their responses highlight the same values: family, personal growth, responsibility, boundaries, rest, and support. These are stories about motherhood, partnership, passions, and the courage to sometimes put the phone down and be truly present.

As a mother of three, balance is not a perfect formula — it is a continuous adjustment." "Success is never a solo journey — it is built on support, trust, and shared commitment." "Success in our relationship is a tango — not a solo performance, but a shared rhythm.

I make time for hobbies like reading and traveling, social activities, and spending time outdoors.

I start my day early and focus on being as efficient as possible. That helps me protect my time outside of work. Evenings are for family, the gym or the padel court, and I try to go to the theatre at least once a month — it’s my way of recharging creatively.

Balancing work, growth and personal life is an ongoing process rather than a fixed formula. My family reminds me daily of what truly matters, while my professional growth gives me a sense of purpose and achievement.

We work in a hybrid model with flexible start times, which greatly helps maintain a balance between professional and personal life. I am a mother of three, a wife, a daughter, and a friend – so flexibility is key for me.

Balancing work and family life is key, especially since I have a one-year-old daughter. I prioritize, set boundaries, and focus on quality time. Raiffeisen Tech is family-friendly and flexible, which makes it much easier to juggle everything.

Work-life balance is something you need to consciously work on — especially in IT. I make sure to create moments when I disconnect completely — putting the phone away and being fully present. I’m a mother to a 13-year-old son, and spending time with him is very important to me. Nature helps me reset. Concerts and discovering new places give me energy.

I focus on dedicating time to my family, traveling, and practicing yoga. These activities help me stay grounded, maintain balance, and return to work with new energy.

For me, balance means being present — whether I’m at work or with my family. Setting boundaries and communicating clearly helps me manage both roles effectively.

What Motivates Us – The Driving Force Behind the Journey

Although their roles differ, their sources of motivation often converge. It’s people, impact, growth, challenges, and a sense of creating real value. In their words, you can see pride in building something bigger than a single project—a shared, international organization founded on collaboration.

Ultimately, it’s the people — their stories, growth, and success — that fuel my passion every day.

The people I work with and the atmosphere we create together. Being part of a supportive, collaborative environment is one of my strongest sources of my motivation.

Seeing how good financial insights help the company grow and succeed in the long term is what drives me the most.

When a solution removes manual effort, speeds things up, or simply makes someone’s day easier, that’s very rewarding.

I’m motivated by challenges — by the fact that there is always something new to improve, optimize, or build.

When you combine strong professionals with a healthy culture, it becomes more than just a workplace — it becomes a place where you can truly grow and make an impact.

Our journey has proven that resilience and collaboration can overcome any challenge.

Seeing the impact of my work on the project or people, opportunities for learning, achieving project goals together with my team and positive, collaborative work environment.

Seeing my team grow, gain confidence, and deliver strong results motivates me every day. Their progress feels like a shared success.

I have been fortunate to work alongside remarkable women leaders, both locally and within the RBI Group. Their bravery, resilience, empathy, and integrity continue to inspire me. They are not only exceptional professionals — they are role models who shape stronger teams, stronger businesses, and a stronger society.

Anna Manteuffel – Expert - Business Analyst, Raiffeisen Tech Poland

What does a typical workday look like for you at Raiffeisen Tech?

There’s no such thing as a completely “typical” day for me — and that’s exactly what I enjoy. We work in an agile setup, so most days start with a daily stand-up. There are regular Scrum ceremonies and refinements, but we also have other team meetings, as well as meetings with NWU, for whom we deliver solutions. But beyond the structure, every day brings something different. Our team develops and supports an FX platform for external clients, currently operating in three countries. What started years ago as a business-driven initiative has evolved into a fully-fledged IT unit delivering scalable digital solutions across borders. We began with one country — today we serve three, and we continuously expand our product and feature range.
Additionally, we don’t limit ourselves to a single project or team — we continuously look for improvements that benefit the entire RBI Group.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The fact that I can leverage my previous business experience and combine it with working in IT. At the same time, I remain at the intersection of these two worlds. . Over the years I’ve worked as an analyst, product owner, product manager, expert, even project manager. Today I combine strategic thinking with operational execution. I work closely with our Warsaw-based team, collaborate with NWUs and colleagues in Vienna, and sometimes connect directly with clients — whether to resolve production issues or test new prototypes.

I love the scale and impact of what we do. Our solutions operate across multiple countries and support real clients in real time. There’s something very motivating about seeing how your work translates into tangible value.

I also enjoy the variety. We’re not only maintaining production stability and ensuring quality — we’re continuously designing and delivering new functionalities. There’s always something new to learn, improve, or optimize.

The international and cross-cultural collaboration is another aspect I truly appreciate. Working with different perspectives broadens your mindset and makes every day interesting and full of challenges

How did you come to Raiffeisen Tech, and what inspires you most here?

Before joining Raiffeisen Tech, I spent over a decade at Raiffeisen Bank Polska in the Capital Markets area. I started my journey in Operations and later moved into the role of Product Manager in Treasury.

When Raiffeisen Bank Polska was acquired by BNP Paribas, a new opportunity emerged for me to join the core team responsible for optimizing processes and building Capital Markets solutions for banks across the RBI Group. Staying in the yellow-and-black Raiffeisen colors felt like a natural choice.

Initially, we operated as a more business-oriented team. Over time, however, we transformed into a fully agile, scrum-based setup, working on the implementation of a group-wide FX exchange platform for RBI banks. What began as a rollout in one country eventually expanded to three — a journey that required adaptability, collaboration, and continuous learning. My transition into IT happened very organically.

What inspires me most at Raiffeisen Tech is the culture of continuous development. We do not limit ourselves to our current expertise — we constantly explore new areas where we can improve processes, enhance products, and create real value. It is a culture built on learning, transformation, and growth.

Which skills do you think are most important in your role?

Multidimensional thinking is key — the ability to combine strategic perspective with operational detail. You need to understand business goals, technical constraints, client expectations, and regulatory aspects — often all at once.

Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and communication are equally important. I work with different teams, roles, and cultures, so adaptability is essential.

And finally — continuous learning. The environment changes fast. Staying curious and open to new knowledge like AI  is critical.

How do you balance work and personal life?

Work-life balance is something you need to consciously work on — especially in IT, where projects can be demanding and fast-paced. When we are tired, we are less productive and more irritable, which affects both work and relationships.

I’m still learning to manage this balance well. I make sure to create moments when I disconnect completely — putting the phone away and being fully present.

I’m a mother to a 13-year-old son, and spending time with him is very important to me. I also enjoy traveling, going for walks, and simply being outdoors. Nature helps me reset. I also love concerts and discovering new places. These activities clear my head and give me energy.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in IT?

Remember that IT is not only about coding. It also includes business analysis, product management, testing, operations, and many other areas. You don’t need to be a programmer to find your place here.

We deliver products end-to-end — from idea to implementation and maintenance — and that requires diverse skills and personalities. The key is to understand your strengths and build on them.

IT is fascinating and full of opportunities, but it’s also demanding. You need to stay up to date with trends and continuously develop your skills. The good news is that every role offers a clear career path — from intern or junior to senior and expert.

What motivates you most at Raiffeisen Tech?

The scale of impact and the constant evolution. We operate across countries, collaborate with Vienna and multiple RBI entities, and continuously expand our solutions.

I’m motivated by challenges — by the fact that there is always something new to improve, optimize, or build. I also value the trust and flexibility that allow me to move between roles depending on organizational needs.

After almost 20 years in banking, I can honestly say that this combination of business expertise and technology transformation makes my work more exciting than ever.

I start my day early and focus on being as efficient as possible. That helps me protect my time outside of work. Evenings are for family, for unwinding at the gym or on the padel court, and for disconnecting. I also try to go to the theatre at least once a month — it’s my way of recharging creatively.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in IT?

Be curious and stay adaptable. Technology evolves fast, and especially now, embracing AI early is not optional — it’s essential. The more flexible you are and the more open you are to learning, the more opportunities you’ll create for yourself.

Drenusha Shehu Pula – General Manager Operations, Raiffeisen Tech Kosovo

What does a typical workday look like for you at Raiffeisen Tech?

Every day begins with gratitude for the incredible Operations team I work with. Although small, they prove that impact is not defined by size but by spirit, collaboration, and excellence.

From there, my day flows into strategic alignments with peers, the General Manager, and the broader management team. Together, we transform strategy into action. We challenge ideas, brainstorm solutions, and align our strengths to move Raiffeisen Tech Kosovo forward.

Leadership, for me, is not about hierarchy — it is about creating space where people can thrive, contribute, and succeed together.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

How do you balance work and personal life?

As a mother of three, balance is not a perfect formula — it is a continuous adjustment. Structure, organization, and preparation are key.

I also believe in leading by example at home. I encourage my children to take responsibility and grow independent, just as I encourage my teams to do the same.

And I am grateful for the support of my husband, whose partnership makes it possible for me to continue growing professionally and academically. Success is never a solo journey — it is built on support, trust, and shared commitment. Success in our relationship is a tango — not a solo performance, but a shared rhythm. When one of us advances, the other provides grounding and confidence. It is built on trust, flexibility, and the courage to let each other shine.

Loredana-Ionela Nutu – Financial Lead, Raiffeisen Tech Romania

What does a typical workday look like for you at Raiffeisen Tech?

A typical workday for me is very hands-on and dynamic. My main priority is to ensure that everything runs smoothly from a financial perspective and that the company’s operations are fully supported. I usually start the day by reviewing the cash position and upcoming payments, making sure that the suppliers are paid on time and that we maintain a healthy cash flow. I process payments, oversee travel expense reimbursements and monitor incoming and outgoing transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies. A significant part of my role also involves financial planning. I continuously update forecasts to provide visibility on our financial position and to support strategic decision-making.

Additionally, I maintain close communication with our outsourced accounting in all tax and accounting issues, ensuring that everything is accurate, compliant and delivered on time. Being the sole person in the finance function within the Romanian entity requires strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to switch quickly between operational tasks and higher-level financial analysis.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

What I find most rewarding about my role is its dynamic nature. Alongside the routine responsibilities—payments, cash flow monitoring and coordination with our accounting partners there are always new challenges that require quick thinking and adaptability. I appreciate this constant variety as it keeps me engaged and continuously learning.

I also find great satisfaction in the fact that my work goes beyond operational execution. By providing cash flow projections, financial analysis and continuous monitoring of the company’s financial position, I can offer valuable support in business decision-making. Knowing that my insights contribute to strategic discussions and help shape the company’s direction is particularly fulfilling.

How did you come to Raiffeisen Tech, and what inspires you most here?

I joined the company somehow unexpectedly. I was contacted by someone from the HR team.  At that time, I was working in a slightly different field, focusing on budgeting and controlling within the HR department for a pharmaceutical company. Although I had made a professional shift into HR a few years earlier, my background is finance, and I always knew I wanted to return to that area at the right moment.

What immediately attracted me to this opportunity was the fact that the company was newly established. The idea of building the entire financial and operational framework from the ground up felt both challenging and incredibly motivating. It meant not just stepping into an existing structure but actively being involved in shaping processes and creating a solid financial foundation for future growth.

What inspires me most here is precisely this sense of the impact. Being part of a company in its early stages offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to how things are built and to see tangible results from your work.

Which skills do you think are most important in your role?

In my role, I believe a combination of technical expertise and soft skills is essential. From a technical perspective, strong financial acumen is fundamental, this includes cash flow management, forecasting, budgeting and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Also, accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as there is very little room for error.

At the same time, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively are extremely important. Managing payments, reimbursements, projections, and coordination with external accounting partners requires structure and discipline, especially in a growing company where processes continue to evolve.

Equally important is adaptability. Being part of a relatively young organization means that new challenges arise frequently and the ability to respond quickly is very important. I also consider business acumen to be a vital skill—finance is not only about numbers, but about understanding the broader context and supporting strategic decision-making. Providing clear financial insights that guide the company’s direction is one of the most impactful aspects of my role.

Finally, communication skills play a crucial role. Whether collaborating with management, external partners, or colleagues from other departments, the ability to explain financial information in a clear and structured way ensures alignment and supports informed business decisions.

How do you balance work and personal life?

Balancing work, growth and personal life is an ongoing process rather than a fixed formula. I consciously try to create a healthy balance between my professional responsibilities and my life outside the office. Being a mother of two young children can sometimes be challenging, and it requires constant prioritization, organization and flexibility.

I’ve learned that you need to continuously find resources to manage everything- energy, patience and clarity.

What helps me stay grounded is perspective. My family reminds me daily of what truly matters, while my professional growth gives me a sense of purpose and achievement. Over time, as children grow and my expertise becomes more solid, things naturally become more manageable. Experience brings confidence, and confidence reduces pressure.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in IT?

I would encourage them to trust their abilities and not be intimidated by the complexity of the field. A career in finance requires discipline, analytical thinking and attention to detail, but these are skills that can be developed with time and experience.

My advice would be to build a strong foundation, be curious and never stop learning. Finance is not just about numbers; it’s about understanding how a business works and how decisions shape its future. The more you understand the bigger picture, the more valuable you become.

I would also say: don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Some of the most important growth comes from new challenges and unexpected opportunities.

And finally, believe in your voice. Your perspective matters. With confidence, consistency, and continuous learning, you can build a strong and meaningful career in this field.

What motivates you most at Raiffeisen Tech?

What motivates me most is the opportunity to create impact and add real value through my work. Being responsible for the finance function in a growing company gives me a strong sense of ownership. I am motivated by knowing that the accuracy of my work and the insights I provide directly support business stability and strategic decisions.

I am also highly motivated by challenges. Working in a relatively young organization, where processes are continuously being refined and new situations arise, keeps me engaged and pushes me to think proactively.

At the same time, what truly drives me is the combination of autonomy and responsibility. Seeing how good financial insights help the company grow and succeed in the long term is what drives me the most.
