We are looking for Backend Developer & DevOps Engineer to implement new GPH features including data model extensions, validation logic, and database migrations (Liquibase).
About the Job
The Group People Hub (GPH) is a new in-house developed solution. It is a microservice-based application built on Java and Spring Boot, using AWS RDS PostgreSQL for reliable and scalable database management in a secure and encrypted manner. GPH generates Person Unique Identifiers (PUIDs) for internals and externals across the RBI Group and enables consistent integration between HR systems, IDM, and downstream applications.
As part of the CIL replacement, GPH will enhance its standardized APIs and set up streaming-based integrations to consuming systems via Apache Pulsar, as well as connections to Databricks/APEX data products and contracts.
The core facts
- Implement new GPH features including data model extensions, validation logic, and database migrations (Liquibase)
- Develop and enhance REST APIs using OpenAPI-first design and code generationB
- uild and enhance integrations with HR systems, IDM, and downstream applications
- Implement and maintain event-streaming integrations using Apache Pulsar
- Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability
- Support architecture alignment and technical backlog refinement, and remediation planning
- Operate and enhance the platform on Kubernetes / Mercury and AWS
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, and deployment automation
- Monitor system health using Grafana, Prometheus, and centralized logging (Loki)
- Troubleshoot incidents, assess alerts and platform notifications, and ensure system stability
- Ensure security, compliance, and efficient infrastructure usage
- Work closely with Solution Architect, Delivery Manager, Application Manager, and stakeholders across NWUs
- Gradually take over full technical ownership of GPH, ensuring stable operations and a scalable long-term support model
- Proactively identify technical debt and remediation items and document operational and compliance-relevant technical decisions
Nice to have
- Experience working with HR systems, IDM or similar integrations
- Familiarity with Databricks/APEX data platforms
- Experience in banking or regulated environments
Your core competencies
- Java 21+ / Spring Boot 3+
- REST API developmentPostgreSQL and database migration tooling (Liquibase or Flyway)
- Experience with Apache Pulsar or similar event-streaming platformsOAuth2 / OpenID Connect fundamentals
- Kubernetes / OpenShift, Helm, AWS basics (RDS, networking) and cloud security / governance fundamentals
- CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation via ArgoCD and Kargo (GitOps promotion)
- Monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus) and operational troubleshooting
- Experience with GenAI tools in development or operations
