vacancy DevOps Engineer
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who will be involved in a project involving migrating and redesigning the architecture, moving from legacy components toward a cloud-based solution built on AWS and Kubernetes.
About the job
The project is currently migrating and redesigning the architecture, moving from legacy components toward a cloud-based solution built on AWS and Kubernetes, using ETL pipelines and orchestration tools. This is a hands-on DevOps role in a data-driven project, with a strong focus on coding, automation, and cloud infrastructure, rather than classic data engineering or pure operations.
The core facts
- Design, build, and support a modern cloud-based architecture
- Contribute to the migration from legacy systems to a reliable, scalable cloud solution
- Develop and maintain automation and orchestration processes for ETL pipelines and data workflows
- Work hands-on with code, writing and maintaining scripts and components
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and product owners to identify problems and propose technical solutions
- Analyze existing systems and data flows, understanding performance limitations and proposing improvements
- Work with legacy technologies and support their gradual modernization
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability in a high-usage, multi-client environment
- Participate in design discussions and contribute ideas for architecture and process improvements
Nice to have
- Previous exposure to compliance, financial, or highly regulated environments
Your core competencies
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in complex or data-intensive projects
- Strong coding skills in Python, with good working knowledge of SQL and Linux shell scripting
- Solid understanding of data modelling and database design principles, including performance considerations, partitions, and indexes (not a DBA role)
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Experience working with ETL pipelines, orchestration tools, or data platforms is a strong plus
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and proactively identify and solve problems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a practical “can-do” attitude
- Experience working with or modernizing legacy systems and codebases (e.g., PL/SQL, KornShell, PowerShell)
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, with two-week sprints and close collaboration with Product Owners
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
