The fairy tale world of Raiffeisen Tech - behind the scenes
The Fairy Tale World of Raiffeisen Tech project was born out of the need to create something special that could combine our creativity with the desire to help. We thought we wanted to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of the holidays in an unconventional way. Besides having fun, the educational, developmental, and charitable aspects were important to us. See how we tackled this task.
We didn’t have to wait long for the creativity of our employees to shine. After announcing the campaign, many colleagues stepped up, eager to create something exceptional. Shortly thereafter, a collection of six fairy tales and audio plays came to life! They were designed as a fun and valuable way to spend family time together during holiday travels. The fairy tales sparked imagination and provided valuable lessons. The behind-the-scenes of the Fairy Tale World of Raiffeisen Tech is narrated by the organizers: Ewa Kołnier, Klaudia Bednarczyk, and Magda Jaros.
Enthusiastic beginning
- Ideas for such initiatives usually come to me after conversations with people who share my enthusiasm for trying new things. It was similar this time - it started with the words: "I have this idea that...", and the rest unfolded by itself. After a few discussions, our vision and action plan began to take shape. And although the initial idea was slightly different, thanks to collaboration, openness, and knowledge sharing, we proposed a very interesting form of the campaign to our employees: expanding our knowledge and skills, developing creativity, and additionally supporting charity collections. Working in an environment where there is room for such initiatives is of great value to me – says Ewa Kołnier, Scrum Master at Raiffeisen Tech.
Back to School
The idea was great, but... how do you write a fairy tale? Few of us knew. But since we approach all tasks at Raiffeisen Tech professionally and look for tools to help us achieve them, this time couldn’t be different! So, we organized literary workshops.
- We wanted to remind participants what a fairy tale is, what parts it consists of, how to introduce characters, and what traits to give them. We also discussed literary language, which follows different rules than everyday language – says Magda Jaros, Communications Expert at Raiffeisen Tech, who led the workshops. - For some, this meeting was a return to school, for others, a refresher of previously acquired knowledge. We were surprised by how many people participated. After two hours, the fairy tale writers left with a concrete action plan.
Writing and recording
- Like most creative projects, the beginning was a brainstorming session. Together with Ewa and Magda, we created the fairy tale scripts and outlined the main characters so that employees who joined the fun could easily start writing. However, the plot, the fate of the characters, and the morals of each fairy tale were brilliant ideas from our colleagues. Additionally, some provided handmade illustrations that brought the stories to life. The next stage was editing and proofreading the texts. After these tasks were completed, we published the e-book. The next step was to record the audio play, in which the authors lent their voices to the characters they created. Although writing the fairy tales was a pleasant break from daily duties, recording the audio play turned out to be the most fun part of the project. None of us are professional narrators, so there was no end to laughter and mistakes. But we all had a great time. After the recordings, it was time for editing and publication. Every week, we delivered new fairy tales, which, judging by numerous comments and messages, were really liked – says Klaudia Bednarczyk, Communications Expert at Raiffeisen Tech.
Sharing
- And since we love playing with creativity, creating extraordinary things, and helping along the way, we suggested to our employees and all readers that before downloading the e-book or listening to the audio play, they support one of the affiliated foundations: Girls Code Fun or the Saint Nicholas Foundation – says Ewa Kołnier, Scrum Master at Raiffeisen Tech.
